# About 25 to 100 people have been killed in ongoing clashes between the Afar and Somali Regions of Ethiopia. Fighting began on Friday when the Somali Region's special forces attacked the areas of Haruk and Gewane using heavy weapons including machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades. 

Border clashes between Ethiopia's Afar and Somali regions have killed at least 100 people, a regional official said on Tuesday, the latest outbreak of violence ahead of national elections in June.
