# Russia mounts more troops to the Russia–Ukraine border and the U.S. sends two warships to the Black Sea as tensions escalate between the United States, Russia and Ukraine. 

Russia has amassed more troops on the Ukrainian border than at any time since 2014. Western governments are asking: Why now?
