# Palestinians groups in the Gaza Strip including Hamas fire barrages of rockets at Israeli cities and towns near the Gaza border, as well as seven toward Jerusalem, injuring several civilians. Israel retaliates with airstrikes in Gaza killing twenty people including a Hamas leader and nine children. 

Gaza officials say nine people were killed. The exchange followed clashes between the Israeli police and Palestinian protesters at Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem after a week of increasing tensions.
