# Armed miners on seven boats attack an indigenous community in the Brazilian Amazon rainforest, opening fire against them, wounding a person. Members of the Yanomami indigenous group respond to the fire, killing three miners and wounding four others. 

Violence in Brazil's Amazon is increasing, with tens of thousands of illegal miners in protected areas.
