# President López Obrador apologized for the Torreón massacre happened during the Mexican Revolution in 1911. The revolutionaries led by Madero targeted immigrant Asian merchants, among whom 303 Chinese Mexicans and 5 Japanese Mexicans were slaughtered. This is the first time the Mexican government apologized for it.
