# South Korea reports a record 1,316 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours for the second day a row, prompting the government to raises its restrictions to the highest "Level 4" in Seoul Capital Area for two weeks beginning on July 12. 

South Korea has only given both shots in the dual vaccination process to just over 10% of its 52 million population, while 30% have received at least one dose.
