# The French overseas territory of Martinique enters three-week strict lockdown that close non-essential shops, hotels and cultural and leisure venues such as beach in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Residents also must restrict the movement to maximum 1 km from their homes. 

France's overseas territory of Martinique will enter a tougher lockdown for three weeks from Tuesday to tackle a Covid-19 outbreak on the Carribean island, the local prefect has announced.
