# Singapore announces the first giant panda cub in the city-state when the 12-year-old Jia Jia, gave birth to the cub at River Safari after artifically disseminated with frozen semen from 13-year-old Kai Kai. 

The panda cub's gender is yet to be determined and will be announced later.. Read more at straitstimes.com.
