# Iranian foreign minister Abbas Araghchi and U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff hold three hours of Qatar-mediated talks at the UN General Assembly in New York City, the first contact between the countries since U.S. vice president JD Vance met an Iranian delegation in Switzerland in June.
