A forum for the promotion of LGBT rights is hosted in Kigali, Rwanda, in order to address minority rights. At the forum, a Rwandan man describes being assaulted by family members when he came out as gay. The forum also documented and urged the governments of Tanzania, Uganda, Burundi and Kenya to decriminalize homosexuality and protect the minority.
Rwanda bans public and private transport in and out of Kigali and between districts and extends a curfew from 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. local time for another 15 days amid a deadly second wave of COVID-19.
