The UN International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals sentences both Serbian State Security Service chief Jovica Stanišić and his deputy Franko "Frenki" Simatović to 12 years in prison for providing support to Serb paramilitary groups that carried out ethnic cleansings against the Croat and Bosniak populations in the Bosnian town of Šamac during the Bosnian War.
