Police in Norway evacuate the area surrounding the U.S. embassy in the capital Oslo after a suspicious package was discovered. It is later confirmed as a false alarm.
The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms it has expelled a diplomat from the Russian embassy in Oslo for alleged espionage. The embassy claims the expelled individual was their deputy trade representative who was arrested by Norwegian police on August 20 during a meeting with a suspected spy. The embassy protested to the Norwegian foreign ministry, calling the arrest "a violation of the diplomat status." The ministry, however, has not disclosed the identity of the Russian diplomat nor that of the suspected spy.
Police in Oslo, Norway, say that the FBI is assisting in the investigation into two forged nominations of Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. The impersonator allegedly used the same stolen identity twice.
