At least seven people are killed, including five Egyptian Army soldiers, a military officer and a civilian woman in two separate blasts in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula. ISIL's Sinai branch claimed responsibility for the attacks on several websites.
At least 7 people are killed and more than 770 are injured during clashes between supporters and opponents of the President of Egypt Mohamed Morsi in front of the Presidential Palace in Cairo. The Egyptian Army deploys several tanks and armoured troop carriers to secure the building.
With Operation Eagle, its biggest since 1979, the Egyptian Army says it used tanks and helicopters to kill 11 suspected terrorists and arrest 23 others in the Sinai, following the attack that killed 16 border guards.
