Former Argentine President Carlos Menem is sentenced to 3 years and 9 months in prison for the sale of a government ground. His government's Minister of Economy Domingo Cavallo was also sentenced to 3 years and 6 months. In addition, both were disqualified from holding public office for life. As Menem is currently a National Senator and has immunity, he will not comply with his sentence yet.
