Three people are killed and 13 others are injured in an explosion at a restaurant in Deh Mazang, Kabul, Afghanistan.
One person is killed and several more are injured after a militant bombs a money exchange hub in Kabul, Afghanistan. While the Taliban says that ten people were injured, the city's emergency hospital counts an injury toll of 59.
The Taliban-appointed defense minister of Afghanistan Mohammad Yaqoob orders a crackdown on those members of the Taliban who commit abuses following reports by Kabul residents who complained about abusive treatment by certain Taliban members. Yaqoob says that "We direct you to keep them out of your ranks, otherwise strict action will be taken against you," and added that the Taliban does not "want such people in our ranks."
Taliban spokesman Suhail Shaheen blames former president Ashraf Ghani for the "chaos" in Kabul. Shaheen says that Ghani must return the money that he allegedly stole and says that it was not necessary for Ghani to leave the country as the Taliban "just wanted a peaceful transfer of power".
Afghan officials report at least 80 people are killed and more than 230 injured as twin suicide blasts hit a large demonstration of the Shiite Hazara community over a power route line at Dehmazang Circle, Kabul, Afghanistan. The Islamic State claims responsibility.
