At least 15 people are killed and 40 others are injured in a mass shooting by three gunmen at a Shah Cheragh Shia mosque in Shiraz, Fars province, Iran. Two of the attackers have been caught and the other remains at large. The Islamic State claims responsibility for the attack.
Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi signs a decree ordering all Iranian-backed Shia militias to integrate into the Iraqi Armed Forces by the end of July. The decree will change the names of the militias such as the Popular Mobilization Forces to new divisions and brigades within the military.
At least 37 people are dead after a 7.8 magnitude earthquake strikes with its epicenter below Khash County, Sistan and Baluchestan Province, Iran, near the border with Pakistan. Tremors are felt throughout the Middle East, Pakistan and North India, and hundreds of deaths are expected by the Iran government.
