2026 Chihuahua CIA scandal
Former Chihuahua attorney general César Jáuregui Moreno is arrested by federal agents on a treason warrant as he leaves a Chihuahua state court, which had declined to order his pretrial detention after state prosecutors arrested him two days earlier on related charges of unlawful exercise of public office. He is accused of allowing U.S. agents, reported to be Central Intelligence Agency officers, to take part in an anti-drug operation in April without federal approval.
