2021 Taliban offensive
The Taliban captures Ghazni, provincial capital of Ghazni Province, putting the armed group on their "main road to Kabul" as US officials warned yesterday that Kabul could rapidly fall to the Taliban. Human rights organizations have accused the Taliban of deliberately targeting civilians, which they have denied, and called for an investigation. Also, amid the rapid advance of the Taliban, an Afghan government spokesman says that the central government proposes a "shared power" with the Taliban as long as violence comes to a halt.
