Ten people are killed and another is wounded as gunmen open fire at a mosque in the village of Abankor, Tillabéri, Niger.
A report by Amnesty International citing other organizations says that an increasing number of children are being killed and abducted as the conflict in Niger, mainly in the Tillabéri Region, worsens near the border with Mali and Burkina Faso. The report says that "a generation is growing surrounded by death and destruction" and denounces "gross abuses" by ISIL and Jama'at Nasr al-Islam wal Muslimin. The report urges the government and international partners to "take action".
Seven members of the electoral commission are killed and three others are wounded in a land mine explosion in Tillabéri, Niger. The attack is carried out on the same day as the second round of the presidential election.
Twenty-one more people are found dead and others die of their injuries a day after the attacks in Tchombangou and Zaroumdareye, in Tillabéri, Niger, bringing the death toll to 100. More than 75 others are wounded.
Unidentified gunmen kidnap 10 humanitarian aid workers in southwestern Niger, their NGO reports. Gunmen in the area have previously stolen several vehicles from the International Committee of the Red Cross and Médecins Sans Frontières.
