The Japanese government decides to expand the quasi-state of emergency measures to 34 prefectures after adding 18 new prefectures including Hokkaido, Osaka, and Fukuoka amid a record more than 60,000 cases a day driven by the spread of Omicron variant. The measures will begin from January 27 until February 20.
